This interactive session is the first playtest of a character co-creation process for Unresolved Rage Game—a collaborative storytelling experience about rage, inspired by TTRPGs.
While the full game is being developed specifically for Asian women and femmes, this workshop is open to people of all identities who would like to explore rage in community with others. Together, we’ll use mechanics from the game to examine how rage shows up in our own lives. As we shape the emotional frameworks of our characters, we’ll identify what we want to explore, shed, or reclaim in our own lives through play.
Please note: This is a playtest of a character co-creation process only, not a playthrough of the game. However, we will discuss core game mechanics and how they translate into emotional reactions and personal motivations.
From the Artist
Risa Puno is a NYC-based interactive installation artist who takes play seriously. She is known for crafting disarmingly playful experiences that explore human connection, social dynamics, and shared interaction through site-specific public artworks, games, and participatory design.
Unresolved Rage Game is part of Anatomy of Rage, Puno’s constellation of unexpectedly playful projects that help people be curious about rage—whether theirs is buried deep, boiling over, or just too much to carry alone. Designed especially for Asian women and femmes, Unresolved Rage Game is a raw, super-cringe, yet surprisingly fun collaborative storytelling experience inspired by tabletop roleplaying games. But instead of slaying dragons or seeking glory, players navigate modern microaggressions within a limiting and oppressive system, just trying to survive.
Puno is currently working on version 3.0 of Unresolved Rage Game with a renewed emphasis on collaboration and solidarity, including new Collective Rage mechanics, and hopes to evolve it into a community healing tool.
