Multidisciplinary Artist
ThinAar Studio, Princeton University, Perfect City
Aaron Landsman is a multidisciplinary artist based in New York City. He is obsessed with cities, shadows, anonymity and how we perform power. His recent work Night Keeper premiered at The Chocolate Factory Theater in 2023, and is now out as an album on Hallow Ground Records, created in collaboration with composer Norman Westberg and performer Jehan Young. His new work All the Time in the World turns social media algorithms into a card game that prompts people to connect in real life. Aaron’s prior projects have been commissioned and presented in the US, Netherlands, UK, Australia, Norway, Serbia and Belarus. He is the founder of Perfect City, which works at the intersection of art, organizing, popular education and design. Perfect City is a growing network dedicated to uplifting resident knowledge and changing power dynamics in communities. Aaron’s awards include a Creative Capital Grant, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and a Princeton Arts Fellowship. He co-authored The City We Make Together with Mallory Catlett, published by The University of Iowa Press in 2022. His writing has appeared recently, or will soon, in Urban Omnibus, Longleaf Review, The Iowa Review, The Washington Post, and American Theatre. He is a Lecturer at Princeton University’s Lewis Center for the Arts, where he won an Innovation Award in 2024.
